Stem Stitch

This stitch looks super fancy but is easy as pie.

Quick Refresher:

1: To begin, insert the needle through the fabric from beneath.

2. Bring your needle down one stitch-length ahead, forming your first stitch.

3. Bring the needle up through the middle of the previous stitch, beside the thread (not through it).

4. Push the needle down one stitch-length away.

5. Repeat by bringing the needle up next to the middle of the previous stitch.

 

 

Tips

• Use smaller stitches as your go around corners and bends, it helps the line stay smooth.
