Split Stitch

Fancy, fun and fabulous. 

Quick Refresher:

1: To begin, insert the needle through the fabric from beneath.

2. Bring your needle down one stitch-length ahead, forming your first stitch.

3. Bring the needle up through the middle of the previous stitch, actually splitting the thread.

4. Push the needle down one stitch-length away.

5.Repeat by bringing the needle up through the middle of the previous stitch.

Tip

• Check your thread every few stitches. Untangling a tiny twist now is way easier than battling a giant knot later.
